How ELJEN technology works
Discover the two steps of passive treatment, without mechanics or electricity.
Passive biofiltration
Step 1
Treatment begins inside the patented ELJEN GSF modules. Their geotextile design, combining feed zones and passive aeration zones, creates a biofilter with a very high specific surface area that promotes the development of purifying bacteria. These bacteria effectively break down and filter pollutants present in wastewater.
Final filtration
Step 2
The pretreated effluent is then directed to a thin layer of filter sand, where it disperses evenly before slowly percolating into the natural soil.
This step ensures optimal hydraulic distribution, preserves soil permeability, and limits the risk of clogging, guaranteeing sustainable and reliable treatment.
